Parisse Confident about Italy’s Comeback

Scotland defeated Italy at a staggering 34-10 at Murrayfield in Edinburgh and the elation due to their win over France vanished in thin air for the critics. But the team skipper Sergio Parisse has assured his countrymen that they will be back in form by the time the match against Wales is about to start.

The match is scheduled to be on 23rd February. The probable reason for their confidence is because they have a week at hand to make amendments in their faults which otherwise would not have been possible if the match were just a week ahead.

Leeds Carnegie Complete Griffin Signing

RFU Championship side Leeds Carnegie has completed the signing of Josh Griffin, who completed his long waited move to the Rugby Union after playing in the Rugby League throughout his short career.

The 22 year old three quarter turned out for the Castleford Tigers for one last time before he signed on the dotted lines for Leeds as they look to bolster their side ahead of a tough season in the RFU Championship with promotion to the Aviva Premiership in their minds.

Wales Rugby Team Legend Dr. Matthews Dies

Dr. Jack Matthews, a legend for the British and Irish Lions and the Wales Rugby Team has died after suffering from a brief illness at the age of 92.

Born on the 20th of June in 1920, the centre attention of the scouts at a very young age and went on to become one of the stalwarts at centre for both his clubs and his national team. During his career, Dr. Matthews played for a host of clubs, including Bridgend Rugby Football Club, Cardiff Rugby Football Club, Newport Rugby Football Club, Army Rugby Union and Barbarian FC.

TIME FOR KIDS TO STEP UP

Leigh Halfpenny is set to fill the huge gap left by Welsh legend and all time leading try scorer Shane Williams. That is according to the Wales’ head coach Warren Gatland.

Williams retired from international rugby in spectacular fashion, scoring a try in the last play against Australia at the Millennium Stadium in December but with the Six Nations on the horizon it is time for the Welsh to move on.

Forwards Coach Hails Owens

Robin McBryde, the forwards coach for the Wales Rugby Team has declared that he will be using Ken Owens as the top choice hooker in the side as the team gets ready for a three test match series against reigning Tri Nations champions Australia.

ROBERTS HITS THE HEADLINES

Whilst one Welsh centre has been hogging the headlines there is a more pressing issue for Welsh fans.

With Henson up to his usual business making headlines for all the wrong reasons, Jamie Roberts was being rules out of Rugby for up to six months with a knee injury that will require surgery.

Roberts will now miss Wales’ tour of Australia in the summer and with Henson’s antics seemingly ruling him out it provides an opportunity for one of Wales’ young stars to gain some international experience.

WALES MISSING DAVIES

Wales will be without lock Bradley Davies for the duration of the Six Nations after he was handed a seven-week ban for dangerous tackling.

Davies was sin-binned by referee Wayne Barnes for a tip tackle on Ireland’s Donnacha Ryan on Sunday, and was also cited for the incident.

He was subsequently suspended at a Six Nations disciplinary hearing in London on Wednesday after pleading guilty to foul play. Davies has the right to appeal the seven-week suspension, but Wales coach Warren Gatland has admitted the offence was worthy of a red card.

Warburton aims for Six Nations Title

The Welsh national team captain is positive of Wales’ chances at capturing the 2012 Six Nations trophy. Sam Warburton believes that the Welsh players will be able to lift the trophy above their heads on March 17. That’s when their play the last match of the tournament against France, at the Millenium Stadium, in Cardiff.

WALES SWEAT ON FITNESS

The Wales rugby team is literally sweating it out as they are panicked and worked up regarding their condition in the Six Nation’s Championship.

With their flanker, Dan Lydiate forced off due to the presence of an ankle injury, their fitness squad hopes that no one else has to face such a fiasco as this will only make the team’s strength weaken and put them in a difficult position when it comes to the Six Nation’s matches.
